LYDNHURST, Ohio — It might be at a different location this year, but Eggshelland is back.

Eggshelland had been an Easter holiday tradition in Northeast Ohio for more than a half century. It included more than 18,000 individually-painted eggshells transforming the Manolio family’s front yard in Lyndhurst.

Last year, the Manolio family announced it would be the last for Eggshelland after founder Ron Manolio passed away.

But the Euclid Beach Boys, a local preservation group, has announced that it has acquired Eggshelland from the Manolio family.

On their Facebook page, organizers said “Not wanting this great tradition to go by the wayside and possibly be gone forever, we approached Mrs. Manolio to acquire about obtaining Eggshelland. Through the generosity of the Manolio family, The Euclid Beach Boys are now the proud new owners of this time-honored tradition.”

The display will begin Saturday, April 12, next to the Lyndhurst Community Center, 1341 Parkview Drive. The display is now sponsored by Legacy Village with help from the City of Lyndhurst.

The display will be open through April 19.
